Media Bridges is Cincinnati's Community Media Center providing the education, equipment and environment for people to communicate effectively through media.
Media – be it television, radio, film, the internet, newspapers, photography -- plays a significant role in our everyday lives. It informs us. It influences us. It entertains us. It is a mechanism for communication, a venue for expression, and a vehicle for change. However, the tools are media are being held in the hands of fewer and fewer entities. Through consolidation, buyouts, and corporate mergers, the majority of media channels are being controlled by the few media conglomerates with the deepest pockets. The media you see and hear every day is slowly homogenizing into cookie cutter, mainstream messaging that may or may not represent you or your community.
Media Bridges exists to take the tools of media and put them in the hands of the community. Individuals and organizations can share their talent, their viewpoints, and engage their community in a way that otherwise would not be possible. Media Bridges provides free classes and training and offers free access to equipment so that members of the community can create their own media productions. We also offer discounted video production services to local nonprofits to provide them with a powerful tool for educating, raising funds and awareness.
Our four public access stations offer a means to reach over 165,000 television viewers in Greater Cincinnati. If you wish to provide content for airing on these stations, just contact us and we’ll show you how to make it happen.
