FILM OUTSIDE THE LINES

Film Outside the Lines (FOTL) is a program based on a collaboration with Visionaries & Voices, the Greater Cincinnati Down Syndrome Association, and the Tall Institute. Through this program, artists with developmental disabilities take part in classes where they learn the art of filmmaking, and all of its stages - from storyboarding to shooting to editing and post-production - these students learn every aspect of the craft. They then create their own films, which are screened and distributed both locally and regionally -- helping to shine a spotlight on the talents and creativity that filmmakers of all backgrounds have to share with us.

Participants in our Film Outside the Lines program (FOTL) (a partnership with Visionaries & Voices, the Tall Institute, and the Down Syndrome Association of Cincinnati) have been learning the art of filmmaking this summer and have already started to create their own short films. The goal of the program is to not only teach filmmaking to these students, but to shine a spotlight on the talents and creativity that differently-abled artists in our community have to offer.Thursday, 9/24/09, at 7:30p.m., FOTL and its participants will be featured on the program Viewfinder.

Here's what filmmaker and producer Zo Wesson, host of Viewfinder, had to say about the FOTL program and its participants:

"I can honestly say that I have never encountered a more focused, enthusiastic and dedicated group of young artists in my career." - Zo Wesson
