Hey everyone!!!
      It's been some time since we've updated the blog but there are many things going on in Youth Programming here at Media Bridges:


       Applications are due NEXT WEEK!! Friday, November 27, 2009 @ 5:00PM. APPLY NOW! Get your applications in soon!! We're looking forward to awesome meetings in 2010!


      We welcome having more young people attend our club meetings and become a part of our crew. Currently in Youth Media Club we're working on a PSA Video about how youth and teens get pulled into drugs and drug use, as well as how substance abuse affects many people and communities, not just the drug abuser.
     Beginning in the Fall of 2010, Senior Youth Media Club for youth ages 16-25 will begin! If you're interested, make sure to check back in with us. More information is coming soon!

      Our newest youth club is underway and going strong! Youth Radio Club meets every Monday from 4:30-5:30pm currently. Starting in December we will meet every Monday from 5-6pm. If you are interested in learning the fundamentals of radio production and becoming a crew member of our youth program, join us!!

       We have new programs in rotation on the Youth Channel, courtesy of some bright, young folks at NKU's Norse Media program. Over the next month you will be able to see three really cool programs:

      Check out the Youth Channel's video page to see some of the videos created by the youth camps this year, including the film, "The Green Goblin Strikes Back," which was created using Legos and stop-motion animation.
     Participants in the summer media camps learn how to produce a TV show in the Media Bridges studio, make a film or documentary, be a radio host, design a Web site, and more. Click here to see what camps were offered this year.

     There's a new teen talk show taking over the Media Bridges TV studio this summer. The focus of the show is...

... to help parents and teens understand each other,
... to give teens an outlet to express themselves and showcase talent,
... to help teens make good decisions and deal with peer pressure,
... to discuss any issues teens may have, personally and within the community.

     This week's topic: Why wait?

     Talk it Out! is taped at Media Bridges on Wednesday evenings, from 4-8pm. The first episode was taped July 22 and focused on manners. The second episode was taped August 5 and focused on teens and the media. Episode three is set for August 12.

To the 2008 summer video campers who won a Blue Chip Award in May! The group took first place in the "Student K-5" category.
